Dr. Mathew’s main focus is the translation of research evidence to health-care practice in developing countries. He contributed significantly towards capacity building efforts for evidence-informed decision-making through the SIGNET programme (2009-14). He also developed the KNOW ESSENTIALS tool (2011) for evidence-informed decision-making in resource-limited settings. Dr. Mathew has recently developed a unique model of creating evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, without external funding; which can be emulated in diverse resource-constrained settings across the world. Dr. Mathew served as a member of the GIN Board of Trustees (2019-2023), and the Founder Chair of the GIN Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC) Working Group (2015-2021). He is a founding member of the South Asian Cochrane Network Centre (currently designated as Cochrane India Network). He has served on the Board of Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi) and was the Founder Chair of the HTAi Developing Countries Interest Subgroup (2008-13). He has been a Chair/member of several committees of GIN, HTAi, Cochrane, World Health Organization, Evidence Synthesis Taxonomy Initiative (ESTI), COVID RecMap Project, Indian Council of Medical Research, and Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM).
Dr Jeremy Grimshaw MBChB, PHD is an internationally recognised leading scholar in knowledge translation and implementation science. He is a Senior Scientist Emeritus, Clinical Epidemiology Program, Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Medicine, University of Ottawa and held a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Health Knowledge Transfer and Uptake (2002-2022). He has made substantive contributions to global evidence synthesis activities for over 30 years including: Cochrane - Co-ordinating Editor of the Cochrane Effective Practice and Organisation of Care group (1997-2015), Director of Cochrane Canada (2005-2016), Co-Chair Cochrane Steering Group 2010-2014; Campbell Collaboration – Chair of the Board (2015-2024); Evidence Synthesis International - Co-Chair 2015 onwards; COVID Network for Evidence Informed Decisions COVIDEND - Co lead (2020-2022); and Global Commission on Evidence to address Societal Challenges - Co-lead (2022-2025). |
